get ready to apply
Before you start...
1. Make sure you have all the information in front of you:
2. Check if you have proof of financial need. This could be a Health subsidy (SSI, Medicaid, or MassHealth), Housing subsidy, Food subsidy (SNAP benefits), a Home energy subsidy (Heating oil, etc), or another document.
3. Call your vet clinic and authorize them to release information about your pet to Phinney's.
4. Apply for CareCredit - a credit loan system that most vets accept as a form of payment. You may apply online, at the vet’s office, or by phone at 800-677-0718.
IMPORTANT: Make sure you save the screen for your CareCredit result. You will need to send us the confirmation page if you are declined or accepted, and how much you were accepted for.
5. Send us the following documents:
Fax it to (617) 979-8705, or scan it / photo it and email to info@phinneys.org. IMPORTANT: Remember to add your full name to your message.
6. Contact other organizations. You can find a list of charities under Get Help and on the Internet.
If you think you are eligible, and have completed steps 1 to 6, apply below by clicking the button.
Please answer ALL of the questions. Incomplete applications will be discarded. Your active participation in this process is key, as we have no staff.

- Think about exactly what you will ask from us
- Info about the vet clinic you are using, if any
