The giving spirit was out in full force at this year's Holiday Festival, warming the hearts of our Godpets, their people, and Phinney's volunteers. Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended the 2022 Holiday Festival, we raised more than $3,300 in just one day this past Sunday to help our Godpets and their people (and we're still counting donations as they come in)!
It was so wonderful to see so many smiling faces (and wagging tails) come out to support our important mission. And now that our Angels Tree is officially lit up, we invite all who couldn't attend the festival to visit Pierce Park at 17 Weston Road in Lincoln any day from dawn to dusk through January 2023 (look for signs for Phinney's Angels Tree). You can enjoy the quiet comfort of the park grounds while marveling over the love our volunteers and our donors have for each and every Godpet whose adorable faces are featured on hand-painted watercolor ornaments adorning a majestic blue spruce. And speaking of those special faces, we have several NEW Godpets we would like to officially introduce you to: Archie, Freya, Fritzy, Paka, and Sparkly! Perhaps you would like to sponsor one of these cuties or our other Godpets. Being a Godparent is a special way to help ensure that they get the vet care, food, meds, and other supplies they need. And monthly sponsors receive quarterly updates about their Godpet! On behalf of all the Godpets, their people, and our volunteers, thank you again for your continued support. Your giving spirit is the reason we are able to bless so many in need with kindness.

We hope you can join us for this festive fundraiser tomorrow! After months of planning, Phinney's Holiday Festival is finally here!
Stop by Lincoln's Pierce House at 17 Weston Road between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. tomorrow to say hello to our dedicated volunteers. They work hard all year long to make sure people and pets in Massachusetts who can't afford pet food, supplies, and veterinary care don't have to worry about having those essential needs met. We've got a great day in store for everyone, including:
Plus, Phinney's will have a wide assortment of decadent baked goods and hot, seasonal beverages to warm your spirit and hand-painted Phinney's Godpet ornaments. All proceeds from the sale of our items go directly to support peopled pets in need, and, while supplies last, anyone donating $50 or more will receive a fabulous Phinney's mug. We are also expecting a very special guest direct from the North Pole, and we look forward to seeing you soon! And if you can't make it tomorrow, we hope you'll consider making a donation to help us kick off the giving season. With Tats for Cats and Other Furry Friends, coming up Saturday, October 1, Newton's Bird in Hand Tattoo joins a growing list of businesses donating their services to fundraise for Phinney's! Businesses are in a unique position to raise awareness of important missions like ours and to generously give back by donating their time, talents, and in some cases a portion of their profits to support the initiatives of nonprofits.
In 2021 alone, we were so fortunate to have several businesses connect with Phinney's to help our cause, including:
These three fundraisers alone raised more than $4,000 to benefit Phinney’s, and we're thrilled to announce that another business is stepping up to hold a unique fundraiser all its own to help keep people and their beloved pets together! What: Tats for Cats and Other Furry Friends! When: This Saturday, October 1 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.(first come, first served) Where: Bird in Hand Tattoo, 425 Lexington Street, Newton (Auburndale), MA Cost: Between $60 and $100 for pet-themed flash tattoos All proceeds from Bird in Hand Tattoo's fundraiser benefit Phinney's! We’re so grateful to Bird in Hand shop owner Chris Debarge and the other tattoo artists who will be donating their time and talents and leaving their indelible mark on Phinney's in this unique way. And we thank Kindness Animal Hospital in Waltham, too, for helping Bird in Hand Tattoo “get the ball rolling,” as Chris says. It means so much to us when businesses come up with creative fundraising ideas that are all their own to give back. So, if you have (or know someone who has) a business and would like to showcase your talents, products, or services in a unique and heartwarming way, we’d love to talk to you! Right now, we also have corporate sponsorship opportunities available for our Holiday Festival on November 6. We can provide more information about this and other corporate sponsorship and fundraising opportunities if you’re interested in learning more. Just send us an email at fundraising@phinneys.org to connect. And thank you again to all the businesses that have supported us over the years. Whether it's a real estate brokerage, a restaurant or cafe, a yoga studio, a pet grooming practice, a tattoo shop or some other business (got any ideas?!), we are furever grateful for the support! Mark your calendars because Phinney's Holiday Festival is back for 2022, and you won't want to miss this festive spectacular to benefit people and pets in need! OK, so there's still plenty of summer sun to soak up, but our fundraising committee is already hard at work planning Phinney's Holiday Festival, so we couldn't wait to share the news that this capstone event is back for 2022!
We hope you'll save the date on your calendar right now so you can be sure to join us at Lincoln's Pierce House on Sunday, November 6. It's been awhile since we've all been able to gather together, so this year's Festival will be an extra special celebration for all! Stay tuned to email and social media announcements about the entertainment lineup, wares you'll be able to peruse and buy in time for the holidays, and so much more! And in the meantime, visit Phinney's event page to learn more. Phinney's is happy to participate in events like Paws in the Park 2022, and we need more dedicated volunteers to help. When people come together to support animal welfare, everyone benefits! For those who were able to attend Paws in the Park (Paws) on May 15 at Longfellow’s Wayside Inn in Sudbury, MA, you know it was a really great time!
Our president, Morgan Ritz, and a team of dedicated volunteers (a big shout out to Lynn, Diane, and Marva and her daughter Daphna) made a lot of new friends on Phinney’s behalf, raising more than $200 to support our mission. We are so grateful for the contributions received and for our volunteers' hard work in organizing and participating in this event. By the way, we are looking for a volunteer to Coordinate our Table Events! That means this volunteer would search for events for Phinney's to participate in, maintain a calendar of such community events, and recruit volunteers to staff event tables. Are you interested? Email info@phinneys.org to learn more. At Paws in the Park, we had pamphlets so people could learn about how Phinney's provides a lifeline of financial and emotional support to those struggling to care for their pets. People also got to learn about our recently launched Legacy Program. And, of course, there was lots of “shop talk” about how amazing pets are, and there were so many cute dogs out with their people, which was heartwarming to see. The proceeds from admission to Paws in the Park benefited the nonprofit Save a Dog. We’re so glad we were able to support Save a Dog’s mission to help homeless dogs that day. Thank you again to everyone who made Paws in the Park a success! We look forward to hosting our own in-person events again soon. Stay tuned to our events page for updates. Stop by Phinney's tent to say hello and to check out the cool stuff we'll be selling to benefit Phinney's pets! We'll be at Save a Dog's Paws in the Park fundraiser May 15 at Longfellow's Wayside Inn in Sudbury.
There will be games for doggies, including agility try-outs, a group walk, and more than 60 vendors and exhibitors, including Phinney's, with everyone there to lend a helping hand to homeless dogs in need. We hope you'll stop by Phinney's tent to say hello to our dedicated volunteers. We'll also have some fabulous pet-themed wares for sale, including greeting cards and Cheengoo dog leashes and collars--woof!--and all of those proceeds will go to help keep Phinney's people and pets together. So, who's ready to join us for what promises to be a wagtastic time?! Phinney’s will be at Paws in the Park on May 15! The event takes place rain or shine from 10 am to 3 pm at Longfellow’s Wayside Inn (72 Wayside Inn Road in Sudbury), and we hope you’ll stop by Phinney’s table to say hello to our dedicated volunteers if you’re able to attend.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-12, and free for kids under age 5, and proceeds benefit Save a Dog, a Sudbury-based nonprofit committed to rescuing and rehoming abandoned dogs. A 1-mile group walk will take place at 11 am, and if you have a dog who likes being around other dogs and people, they can come, too, on a non-retractable leash, woof! In addition to the walk, there are several other activities that will be going on, including:
Food and Other Exhibitors We hope to see you at Paws in the Park 2022! We’re looking forward to reconnecting with old friends and sharing information about how Phinney’s helps people address veterinary and other pet needs when they can’t afford it – all while supporting the good work Save a Dog does in sheltering and placing dogs (and cats, too!) into loving homes. Now through the end of the year, you can visit Redstone American Grill located at 20 Third Avenue in Burlington for some fabulous drinks and a meal to benefit Phinney’s!
The restaurant is featuring several dishes as well as cocktails and mocktails on behalf of Phinney’s. That means Redstone will donate $1 from each of the select food and beverage menu items purchased during the two-month charitable campaign to Phinney’s. Our goal is to raise $2,000, and you can help us meet our goal by dining at Redstone! Just look for the items on Redstone’s brunch, lunch, or dinner menus that are highlighted in a yellow frame when you visit. And, here’s a sneak peak at the food and cocktail (and mocktail) menu items you can select to help us out:
Redstone serves lunch until 4 pm daily, and brunch is available on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dinner is served in the evenings and closing times vary by day. For the full list of hours, including curbside pickup, please visit Redstone or call 781-229-0330. Redstone’s Vice President of Operations Mike Musselman said they chose us for this special initiative because of Phinney’s reputation as a local, well-rated nonprofit. This means a lot to us, and we hope you’ll support this local business, spread the word, and consider dining at Redstone to help us meet our goal. Every dollar counts, especially as we head into the long winter months when people may need pet food and supply deliveries to get them through until spring. Phinney’s has been invited to participate in the Lincoln Arts Show, and we'll be onsite at Lincoln's Pierce House from 12-5 this Saturday and Sunday (Nov. 6-7) to kick off our Angels Tree celebration! Join us to see the majestic blue spruce all lit up in support of Phinney's Godpets -- pets who receive regular help with food, supplies and vet bills thanks to generous donations. We hope you'll stop to say hello at our table at the arts show, where we'll be selling watercolor ornaments to take home, give to others or hang on the Angels Tree outside. We'll also be selling Department 56 ceramic houses. (While supplies last!) The proceeds we get at our table will benefit low-income people and their pets in need. Here's a sneak peek at some of the ceramic houses that may still be available: The Lincoln Arts Show will feature creations by Lincoln artists and artisans of all ages. The art, ranging from paintings and photographs, to pottery and hand crafts, will be for display or sale, depending on the wish of the artist. For more details, check out our press release. We're excited to be able to kick off the holiday season in such a creative and fun way, and we hope you can join us. If you missed last month's news, check out some of our most popular stories below!
